Texas Sun on 25 October 1937: Dave Boone Collection
This page will contain a history and news items pertaining to the M.S. Texas Sun. The keel of the ship was laid on 8 April 1936 and the ship was launched on 24 March 1937 at Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. At the time of its construction the "M.S. Texas Sun" was the largest tanker in the Sun Oil fleet. She ran on diesel and her speed was 13 knots. The ship was sold in 1959 to Dowd Sg. Corp. and was renamed the "Texas Ranger." On the 1st of March 1960 she was broken up. |
